Yoga Benefits Every Area of Your Life!
If You Previously Thought It was Just a Bunch of Poses and Stretching, Please Keep Reading…

I’m never surprised when people who try yoga for the first time are totally blown away by how enjoyable it is, how relaxing it is, and how much they look forward to doing yoga again.  There is something about yoga that is so different from anything else.  It’s not just about the physical benefits of yoga, which are immense, but it’s about the mental awareness and peace of mind that comes with practising yoga.

Here are some thoughts from people that have been enjoying yoga only for a short time:

“It’s really changed my life, and I’ve never been interested in exercising before!”

“I can’t believe how flexible I am compared to just a few weeks ago.  My joints feel so much better.”

“I turn to yoga for stress relief now, it’s better than therapy!”

I love hearing how yoga can change a person’s life.  Whether you take classes or do yoga from home, it’s extremely beneficial, and you can literally do yoga just about anywhere, with no special equipment needed.

Yoga has a history of approximately 5000 years. By its very nature, Yoga leads you toward greater balance and relaxation. It’s the ultimate mind-body practice. Yoga practice brings a balanced mixture of alertness and relaxation with each pose.

Whatever your age, weight, flexibility, or beliefs may be, you can practice and benefit from some version of Yoga.

Yoga is separated into 8 sections known as the 8 “limbs” of yoga. Every limb relates to a facet of accomplishing a healthy and fulfilling life, and each one builds on the one before it. You might be surprised to hear that only one of the limbs affects the performance of yoga postures.  You do not have to practice any other limbs aside from Asana, the posture part of yoga to get great benefits.

If you’d like to learn more about yoga, and which kinds may suit you, let us help!  It can be confusing at first, but some of the more popular styles you may have heard of might include:

  • Hatha Yoga
  • Ashtanga Yoga
  • Power Yoga
  • Hot Yoga
  • Bikram Yoga
  • Vinyasa Yoga
  • Iyengar Yoga
  • Aerial Yoga

There is a yoga style for everyone to enjoy!

Yoga can help with blood circulation, blood pressure, stiff joints, tight muscles, and tension to name just a few benefits.  Most of all I think the greatest benefit is the wonderful flexibility it gives to our ageing bodies.  You can practice yoga long into old age!

The earlier you start practising yoga, the great the benefits will be, but it’s NEVER too late to start!

Why not invest in yourself and try out some yoga poses today?
